This is not a drill. After months of teasing Insight’s redesigned look, it is finally landing this month.
I’m thrilled to debut it, not only with a fresh design, but also with a sharper focus and new features that will give you deeper insight into the people and businesses shaping our region.
I couldn’t think of a better company than Werner to be the subject of this month’s cover story by Associate Editor Kate Bruns, especially as it debuts its own evolution — a rebrand from Werner Electric Supply to, simply, Werner. The name change reflects Werner’s evolving position in energy, cybersecurity and sustainability. Turn to page 20 to learn more about how Werner is amping up its work in these areas.
Along with Insight’s new look, we’re introducing several features designed to bring you closer to the business community we cover:
- The Brief: This new department (starting on page 9) contains updates on the latest industry trends and people you should know. This month we introduce Andrew Verboncouer, partner and CEO of Headway, which manages Startup Wisconsin. You will also meet Abbey DeBruin, the first female orthopedic surgeon at OSMS, who is profiled in this month’s Personalities feature. There are also updates on the Port of Green Bay, a new farmer-led food subscription and a hot take on social media budgeting from a local agency.
- Insight on Manufacturing: We expanded our manufacturing industry coverage by incorporating Insight on Manufacturing, formerly a bimonthly publication, as a monthly section inside Insight. You can expect the same stories on industry trends, local manufacturing news and innovative companies — just more of them. Head to page 33 (stop when you see the picture of Cruisers Yachts’ newest fleet) to check out the new section.
- Down Time: We will close each issue of Insight with a look at the passions and off-the-clock hobbies of local business leaders. Turn to page 60 to read up on the maple syrup-making prowess of Somerville President Matt Schachtner, our inaugural Down Time subject.
Launching this redesign as we head into November — a season of reflection and gratitude — feels particularly fitting. I’m grateful for the dedication of Insight’s team and our design partner A2Z The Agency who brought this vision to life, for our readers who hold us accountable to quality and for the incredible business community that continues to inspire the stories we tell.
I hope you love Insight’s new look as much as I do. Please share your feedback with me at awolff@insightonbusiness.com.
With gratitude, Amelia Compton Wolff
