Green Bay Packaging Inc. acquired SMC Packaging Group based in Springfield, Missouri effective May 31. SMC Packaging Group produces corrugated packaging solutions and operates across multiple locations in Missouri, Arkansas and Oklahoma. It will operate as a corporation 100% owned by Green Bay Packaging.
TopSide Marinas, a family-owned company headquartered in Texas, recently acquired Bay Marine of Sturgeon Bay and Bay Marine of Chicago. Previous owners Matt and Mark Felhofer will continue to own and operate Bay Marine Yacht Sales, which will lease back showroom and office space at both locations. Bay Marine of Sturgeon Bay was established in 1965 and spans 16 acres with 100 wet slips, 115,000 square feet of inside storage, a service shop and captain’s lounge.
Wooly Green Grazers, Appleton, was hired by the Port of Green Bay to provide sheep to graze Renard Island. The pilot project is intended to provide a cost effective, environmentally friendly method for vegetation management.

The Fielmann Group, Germany, will acquire 100% equity ownership in Shopko Optical, Green Bay, from Monarch Alternative Capital LP. Shopko Optical operates more than 140 stores across 13 U.S. states and generated $168 million in sales in 2023.

American Companies Charlotte Apartments include 87 units on four floors; The Adeline Apartments include 83 units on three floors.
Miron Construction Co., Inc. has started remodeling the 20,000-square-foot St. Joseph Food Program facility in Menasha. St. Joseph began the project after receiving more than $1.7 million in an ongoing capital campaign to raise $1.95 million.
Grants
Menasha Corporation marked its 175th anniversary May 21 by donating $3.75 million to Fox Valley area organizations as part of a commitment to donate $6 million to charity in 2024. Local donations include: $250,000 to Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Services, Oshkosh; $250,000 to Trout Museum of Art, Appleton; $250,000 to Jefferson Park in Menasha; and $3 million to Elisha D. Smith Library, Menasha.

Faith Technologies Incorporated (FTI), Menasha, was recognized with a Sustainability Award by the Rockwell Automation PartnerNetwork for technology applied at a digester facility in Dane County. FTI also received a Platinum Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health for the third consecutive year by Mental Health America.
