Get to know: Alex Suscha

Founder, Sourcer AI

Alex Suscha has made escaping polarized news with one-click clarity a reality through his startup, Sourcer AI, LLC.

The incoming junior and business administration major at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is filling a gap in the artificial intelligence market. He likens his AI Saas platform to Grammarly for news articles, but it doesn’t stop at summarizing. Instead, Sourcer AI assesses news’ credibility and bias (including emotional framing intended to push an agenda) and delivers clarity.

All with the click of one button and five seconds.

The tool is garnering attention, including placing first in the Accelerate Sheboygan County pitch competition last winter. Suscha credits his Sheboygan North High School Debate Club experience with earning those accolades. But competition wins aren’t what drives him; an interest in innovation and helping people by understanding customer needs better than anyone does.

His tool, developed by UWSP student programmers, evaluates currency, reliability, authority, purpose and source to deliver a reputability score and political bias score that includes emotional understanding other tools don’t. Collectively, they come together to “end this era of misinformation,” he says.

“There are a lot of fact checkers out there, but half of Americans don’t trust them,” Suscha says. “We’re trying to fill that gap in a way that provides emotional truth in addition to [factual] truth for people who feel like everything is polarized and sensationalized. Sourcer AI is a tool for transparency and clarity [delivered] in a way that no other service offers.”

Suscha credits a three-pronged definition of “true wealth” with inspiring and driving him, rooted in relationships with family and friends, personal health/vitality and freedom of choice.

“I want to invent things like Sourcer AI that fill holes in people’s lives in unique and innovative ways,” he says. “I try to live my best life by being wealthy even though I don’t have monetary wealth yet.”
