A brand-new way to experience Manitowoc is officially arriving this month.
Simply Paddle LLC, a new self-serve kayak and stand-up paddleboard rental business located at the River Point District kayak launch in Downtown Manitowoc, will celebrate its grand opening at 4 p.m. May 20.
The community is invited to stop by, check out the new rental kiosk, meet the owners, and learn how easy it is to get out on the water. The event will celebrate the launch of Manitowoc’s newest outdoor recreation opportunity, designed to make kayaking and paddleboarding simple, affordable, and a-peeling for both residents and visitors.
Simply Paddle was developed in partnership with the city of Manitowoc as part of ongoing efforts to activate and enhance the downtown riverfront experience.
Located at 1001 River Point Drive along the Manitowoc River near Lake Michigan, Simply Paddle offers self-serve rentals with no reservations required. Customers can rent single kayaks, tandem kayaks, or stand-up paddleboards directly from an easy-to-use kiosk and get on the water in minutes.
“Manitowoc’s riverfront is such a special part of our downtown, and we wanted to make it easier for people to get out and enjoy it,” said owner Stephanie Peters. “We’re excited to bring something new and fun to Manitowoc.”
Paddlers can explore scenic stretches of the Manitowoc River, enjoy views of the USS Cobia submarine and the SS Badger, and experience Downtown Manitowoc from a completely different perspective.
The business plans to host regular paddling meetups, mixers, and special events throughout the season.
