The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources announced that Kimberly-Clark Marinette is transitioning from Tier 1 to Tier 2 in the Green Tier program.

This is a higher commitment to environmental stewardship and mature environmental management systems.

The Marinette facility produces Scott Shop Towels, Scott Rags-in-a-Box, WypAll wiping products and Viva paper towels for global household and consumer use.

Since joining Green Tier in 2021, the facility has diverted 100% of its manufacturing waste from landfill and reduced water usage by 6%. Moving forward, the facility will work on lowering energy use to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The DNR’s Green Tier program recognizes organizations that voluntarily commit to doing more than regulations require.

“We are excited to recognize Kimberly-Clark Marinette for their commitment to build off of their past achievements of reducing waste to landfill and water use,” Connie Antonuk, DNR secretary’s director for Northeast Wisconsin, said in a statement.
