The Kohler luxury resort is embarking on a significant expansion of its Inn on Woodlake Hotel, adding 66 guest rooms and introducing a golf and entertainment complex designed to serve both resort guests and area residents.
The project, set for completion in June 2027, represents the latest chapter in Kohler’s ongoing investment in its hospitality portfolio. At its center is Bucks & Birdies Entertainment Center, a social hub featuring golf and F1 racing simulators, duck pin bowling, darts and a casual pub-style restaurant. The facility will occupy the ground floor of a new three-story addition, with guest rooms on the upper levels.
“Guests travel from around the world to play our legendary courses at Whistling Straits and Blackwolf Run,” said Nina Kohler, strategy and design consultant for Kohler Hospitality. The new entertainment district, she said, creates “lively, inclusive spaces that bring fresh energy to the resort while fostering a stronger sense of belonging for our guests, Kohler associates and village residents alike.”
The expansion will increase the Inn on Woodlake’s capacity to 203 rooms, including two- and four-bedroom suites. Outdoor improvements include a new hotel entrance, enhanced landscaping and a stone-paved promenade along Wood Lake. Demolition of select Shops at Woodlake structures is already underway, though the existing hotel will remain operational throughout construction.
The investment comes amid a broader revitalization of Kohler’s hospitality assets. Recent completions include updates to the five-star Kohler Waters Spa, The Greenhouse garden café inside The American Club and improvements at Whistling Straits. Current projects in development include Purebred Farm, a 14-hole golf course; The Serve, a racquet sports facility; Woodlake Market; and renovation of The Carriage House.
