The Green Bay Public Market announced it has reached 60% of its $12.5 million fundraising goal and unveiled The Richard J. Resch Foundation as the lead donor with naming rights for Resch Square.

On Broadway, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and will serve as the owner and operator of the Green Bay Public Market at 211 N. Broadway.

Brian Johnson, executive director of On Broadway, said urban squares are places where people gather to socialize and events take place, creating active and vibrant community centers.

Selective demolition has started on the interior and exterior of the building. Construction fencing and sidewalk closure will happen soon. The construction timeline has completion set for March 2025, which allows the facility to open in time for the NFL Draft in Green Bay.

“This is an exciting time for this project as we surpass the halfway point,” said Johnson. “We’re so grateful to the Richard J Resch Foundation for their support as the Market will bring catalytic change to the Broadway District. Our philanthropic community sees the value of this project and understands that it is a public market with a public purpose.”

The Boldt Company was announced as the project’s lead contractor along with GRAEF as the lead engineering firm and RHG Architecture & Design as the lead design firm. The Boldt Company will relocate its current Green Bay offices to a second-floor space inside the Green Bay Public Market.

On Broadway, Inc. is currently accepting applications and signing leases for tenants that meet the desired profile. Capital Campaign and a link to the tenant application can be found on the Green Bay Public Market website.
