United Piston Ring, Inc. announced it will close its plant at 2920 Fairmont St., Manitowoc, resulting in job losses for the entire staff.
In a letter to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, the company said 5 full-time salaried employees and 54 fulltime hourly employees and one part-time hourly employee will be laid off and receive severance pay that extends beyond the plant closure.
The plant closure is expected to commence on March 6 continue through June 30.
United Piston Ring is part of Tenneco which had acquired Federal Mogul in 2018. Tenneco was acquired by Apollo Global Management in 2022.
