How do you celebrate life’s important moments?
Maybe you have that one restaurant on reservation standby for promotions and birthdays. Or maybe you are like me and keep a bottle of bubbly at the ready for any (and I mean any) reason to toast.
At Insight, we are all about celebrating the big — and small — victories, whether it’s an anniversary, reaching a goal or receiving positive feedback.
A successful leadership transition is a monumental milestone, an example of which can be found in this month’s cover story featuring Tri City Glass & Door. Associate Editor Kate Bruns spoke with both outgoing president Larry Bender and new president Ryan Hartman on what it took to achieve a smooth transition for the 100% employee-owned company. The change marks the first time in more than 60 years there won’t be a Bender family member at the helm, so you can imagine the significance of this moment. Turn to page 20 to learn what the future holds for the Appleton-headquartered company.
It just so happens that our Personalities feature — Visit Manitowoc’s Courtney Hansen — is celebrating her second anniversary with the destination marketing organization this month. (Congrats, Courtney!) Turn to page 12 to read about the former Miss Wisconsin turned Manitowoc travel champion and how she is on a mission to bring more than just visitors to the lakeshore community.
If you are a loyal reader of Insight, you will recognize our annual Anniversary Celebrations sponsored section that appears in each February edition. While we tell the stories of local businesses every month, this section is special because it allows companies celebrating anniversaries to share their stories in their own words. From Menasha Corporation’s 175th to Martin Systems’ 50th, turn to page 29 to discover all the businesses celebrating big birthdays this year.
And lastly, if you haven’t marked Feb. 29 on your calendar for Insight’s first Fastest Growing Companies awards event, please do. We will be counting down the region’s top 25 fastest growing companies live at Lambeau Field. As it’s the inaugural year of this awards program, it will be a milestone you definitely don’t want to miss.
Here’s to celebrating milestones, both big and small, and to the many more that lie ahead.
