New hires

Wintrust Commercial Banking at Town Bank, N.A. hired Julian LaMue as market president for northeastern Wisconsin to oversee commercial banking growth in the region. He will be based in Appleton.

Greg Hartjes was named superintendent of the Appleton Area School District. He takes over for Judy Baseman, who retires July 1. Hartjes previously served as chief financial officer for the district.

Seon-Yoon Chung was selected as the next dean of the College of Nursing at UW-Oshkosh.

Schneider announced Executive Vice President and Group President of Transportation and Logistics Dave Geyer will retire. Chief Commercial Officer and Senior Vice President of Intermodal Jim Filter will succeed Geyer.

Senior Vice President of Finance Lea Ann Hammen was promoted to chief financial officer at Menasha Corp., effective June 1. She takes over for Thomas M. Rettler, who is retiring.

Paul Van Den Heuvel  joined ThedaCare as chief legal strategist.

Sarah Krause joined Secura Insurance as vice president of human resources.

The Dairy Business Association and Edge Dairy Farmer Cooperative hired Jeremy Henkels as managing director, a new role for the advocacy organizations.

The Weill Center for the Performing Arts in Sheboygan hired Crystal Dekker as marketing and events manager.

Red Shoes Inc. hired Tracy Carpenter, business manager, and Katie Much, account coordinator. The company also promoted Katie Thao to creative specialist.

EUA hired Brady Mick as director of workplace strategy.

Paper Converting Machine Co. announced hires: Scott Bean, executive vice president of operations, and Kelly Morgano, global vice president of people. Jason Hilsberg was promoted to vice president of life cycle support.

Attorney Carolyn Salutz joined Renning, Lewis & Lacy, s.c. in its Green Bay office.

Oral Health Partnership hired Tracy Janssen as clinical director and Zach Johnson as human resources business partner.

Diversified Spaces hired Sean McWherter as sales and project coordinator.

Expert Real Estate Partners hired real estate agents Justine Baez, Lori Bishop, Sam Bronge, Jen Hasel, Adrian Ortega, Rachel Opsahl, Laura Reitz, Dean Spoehr, Madison VanBever, Luke Van Ess, Shelly Walter and Robin Ward. It also promoted Aaron Eversto corporate trainer.

Keller, Inc., hired Brad Ausloos, on-site supervisor; Jordon Strean, concrete footing/wall craftsman; and Mike Dunn, building erection craftsman. The company also promoted Kyle Kubly to concrete footing/wall leadman and Noah Gauthierto service order foreman.

First Business Bank added Eric Engstrom as vice president – investment portfolio manager.

ONEIL & Associates hired Kelly Metcalf as director of sales.

McMahon hired David Lintz as a senior architect and Ethan Lang and Maija Seppanen as water and wastewater engineers. Additionally, McMahon announced that retired Senior Vice President Carl Sutter was named a board-certified diplomate, water resources engineer of the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers, a subsidiary of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Promotions

Elmer Moore Jr. was appointed to serve as CEO and executive director of the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority.

Health Care Credit Union promoted Danielle Hilbert to the position of president and CEO.

Sarah J. Knutson was promoted to partner at McCarty Law.

Attorney John Calewarts was promoted to shareholder at the Law Firm of Conway, Olejniczak & Jerry, S.C.

Envision Greater Fond du Lac promoted Tracy Qualmann to senior director of marketing and communication, and Joe Venhuizen to senior director of membership and programs.

The Alliance promoted Deb Kunferman to vice president of network development and provider relations.

Fox World Travel promoted Brianne Bloom to vice president of vacation travel.

The Kimberly Area School District promoted Robert (Rob) DeLain to principal of JR Gerritts Middle School.

Transitions

Sr. Melanie Maczka will retire in May from Casa ALBA Melanie, a resource center serving the Hispanic/Latinx population living in Northeast Wisconsin. A search for her successor is underway.

Nancy Smith, executive director of the Shawano Country Chamber of Commerce, will retire effective in July. A search for her replacement is underway.

Awards

The Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce recognized individuals during its Annual Meeting and Recognition Program in March: Rachel Hansen, Outstanding Chamber Volunteer; James Price, Propel Young Professional of the Year; Patti Langkau, Ambassador of the Year; Jon Doemel, Distinguished Service Award; Wilson Jones, Lynne Webster Leadership Award; and Bob Burnell, Alberta S. Kimball Community Service Award.

The Green Bay Packers Mentor-Protégé Program recognized the 11th session of program participants. Rick DeJardin of 5G Benefits & Wellness in Fond du Lac mentored Abigail Kuehl of ANTIDOTE 1848 in Appleton; Michael Troyer of A Fresh Perspective mentored Alex and Noel Miranda of Bravebird; Donald Herrmann of Herrmann Advantage Consulting mentored Harold Norton of Reverentia Cyber Solutions; Barb LaMue of New North, Inc. mentored Julie Gile of Julie M. The Fox Cities Chamber Excellence in Education Shining Star Award recipients are: Gena Frey, UW-Oshkosh, Excellence in Student Services; Jen VanDenEng, Appleton Area School District, Excellence in Special Education; Nathan Nolte, Fox Valley Lutheran High School, Excellence in Career and Technical Education; Jan Koshalek, Tullar Elementary School, Inclusive Excellence in Education; Jean Horst, Edison Elementary, Excellence in K-12 Education; and Jesús Smith, Lawrence University, Excellence in Higher Education. The Excellence in Early Childhood Education Award was given in memory of Silia Hurula, Gerber Child Development Center. Educator of the Year 2022 finalists were Greg Forton, Hortonville High School; Ashley Rubens, River View Middle School; Scott Hertting, Neenah High School; and Rebecca Whittle, Appleton West. Forton was announced as Educator of the Year April 5.

Hailey Johnson, a senior chemistry major from Appleton, won first place at UW-Oshkosh’s WiSys Quick Pitch.

Lawrence University theatre professor Timothy X. Troy received a Fulbright U.S. Scholar award to teach in a master’s program for stage and screen at the University College Dublin in Ireland.

Graystone Consulting Financial Wellness Director Rebecca McCormick of the firm’s Green Bay office was named to Forbes magazine’s 2022 ranking of Top Women Wealth Advisors Best-In-State.

Board appointments

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay added alumni Michael Cheung and Tom Adrians to its foundation board and Mark Lasee to the Phoenix Real Estate Foundation board.

Wisconsin Bankers Association has appointed Fortifi Bank President and CEO Greg Lundberg to the WBA board of directors for a three-year term.
