The newly expanded Aurora Medical Center–Fond du Lac, 210 Wisconsin American Drive, is scheduled to open its doors for patient care May 6. Now 185,000 square feet, the addition will consist of an 8-bay emergency department, 10 overnight stay beds for patients needing orthopedic, general and abdominal surgeries, an operating and recovery area, a pharmacy, diagnostics and lab.
VPI, Inc. announced the grand opening of Inclusion Clothing Co., a clothing store designed to provide hands-on training and support to its pre-employment clients.
Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Specialists now offers robotic-assisted surgery at the Orthopedic Surgery Center of Green Bay and the Orthopedic Surgery Center of the Fox Valley. The robotic-assisted technology is for select knee replacement surgeries and robotic-assisted navigation for select hip replacement surgeries.
Thunderbird Bakery has opened the doors of a retail cafe on the corner of Sixth and Knapp Street in Oshkosh.
Brown County East Branch Library, 2253 Main St., Green Bay, opened a JobPod pilot site to facilitate access to job search resources for employment seekers. It is a partnership with the Bay Area Workforce Development Board, Brown County Library, Nicolet Federated Library System and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.
The Appleton Common Council approved an agreement that will lead U.S. Venture, Inc. to relocate its headquarters to the 222 Building in downtown Appleton from its current location in Kimberly. The company expects about 640 employees to occupy all 10 floors and will invest $56 million in the facility.
Pierce Manufacturing Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation business, announced the city of Denton (Texas) Fire Department has secured a purchase order for a Pierce Volterra electric fire truck. Sold through Pierce dealer Siddons-Martin Emergency Group, the new Pierce Volterra pumper is expected to be delivered in the fall of 2025 and will cost $1.8 million.
Door County Land Trust has acquired 10 acres in the town of Liberty near the Three Springs Nature Preserve. The land includes groundwater springs, wetlands and a mature maple forest.
The Gentine family, owners of Sargento Foods, announced it will purchase the former 52 Stafford building in Plymouth. The building originally opened as the Laack Hotel in 1892.

Cruisers Yachts announced its expansion into the Lake of the Ozarks area through collaboration with MarineMax.
Following two years of analysis, audience research and planning, Wisconsin Public Radio is reorganizing its statewide service to help listeners more easily find news and music on the radio and on wpr.org. Beginning May 20, WPR’s two current networks, NPR News & Music and The Ideas Network, will become WPR News and WPR Music. The Ideas Network name will be retired and its staff and many of its programs will be part of WPR News.
Construction
Work at Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport that began in 2023 will be finished this year. Improvements will include updates in long-term parking, a runway, new cantilevered canopies at the entrance, new runway and taxiway lighting as well as signage and other safety upgrades.
Keller, Inc. has been chosen as the architect and general contractor/builder on a 3,230-square-foot building remodel and addition for Shoreline Credit Union in Manitowoc; a 23,900-square-foot self-storage and mini-storage building project for Big Ring Storage in Kaukauna; and a two-lane drive-thru addition for Bank of Luxemburg. In addition, Keller is building a 26,000-square-foot facility for Clintonville Utilities and broke ground on a 3.5-acre car lot for Van Horn Automotive Group in Sheboygan.
Bayland Buildings broke ground for a 5,100-square-foot building in Howard for Green Bay Endodontics and for a 9,800-square-foot fire station for the town of Silver Cliff. A ribbon cutting was recently held for the 15,600-square-foot remodel of both the Chilton Police Department and Chilton City Hall.
Frontier Builders & Consultants is the general contractor on a 5,000-square-foot storage building for Tri-County Machining, Inc. at its County Road O location. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of May.
Green Bay-based general contractor Immel Construction has relocated to new office headquarters at 2601 Development Drive. Immel will retain its Green Bay facility at 1820 Radisson St. as an operations center, which includes warehouse, prefabrication and equipment functions.
Fox Cities Builders has partnered with My Choice Sweets, Sobieski, on its bakery build-out.
Dakota Supply Group broke ground April 9 for a new 39,000-square-foot facility in Sheboygan. The facility at 4212 High Tech Lane will feature a 6,500-square-foot outdoor yard and is expected to open in 2025.

The Green Bay Public Market announced it has reached 60% of its $12.5 million fundraising goal and unveiled The Richard J. Resch Foundation as the lead donor with naming rights for Resch Square.
Northern Sky Theater announced it has been awarded a $10,000 grant from The National Endowment for the Arts to support the development and world premiere production of “The Thing with Feathers” with a book by Robin Share, music by Clay Zambo and lyrics by Share and Zambo.
Consolidated Construction Co., Inc. hosted its annual Consolidated for a Cause event and raised $18,337 for the Honor Flight Network.
Bellin Health is partnering with the Green Bay Packers to donate updated CPR instruction and automatic external defibrillator equipment to local schools, thanks to an NFL Foundation grant of $20,000. Benefitting schools are: Ashwaubenon High School, Green Bay Notre Dame Academy, Coleman High School, Lena High School, Marinette High School, Wausaukee High School, Crivitz High School, Bonduel High School, Gillett High School, Suring High School, Reedsville High School and Green Bay School District.

Bellin Hospital, Green Bay, announced it has been recognized as a 2024 Patient Safety Excellence Award and Outstanding Patient Experience Award recipient by Healthgrades.
SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital announced it has received the 2024 Outstanding Patient Experience Award from Healthgrades.
Gov. Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Department of Tourism honored Paine Art Center and Gardens in Oshkosh and Destination Door County with 2024 Governor’s Tourism Awards.
The EAA Aviation Museum in Oshkosh has been named one of the nation’s 10 best aviation museums by “Travel + Leisure.”
Moraine Park Technical College, in conjunction with the Wisconsin Technical College System board, selected Kreilkamp Trucking as the recipient of the 2024 Futuremakers Partner Award. In 2022, Moraine Park and Tim Kreilkamp combined efforts to create the Wisconsin Regional Truck Driving Academy, a career opportunity to help respond to worker shortages.
UnitedOne Credit Union, Manitowoc and Sheboygan, has been designated as a MemberXP Best of the Best Credit Union for Best Member Advocacy and Most Appreciative Staff.
Capital Credit Union was among 168 credit unions nationwide named as winners of the Diamond Awards, the Marketing & Business Development Council’s annual marketing excellence competition. Education
Lakeshore Technical College was awarded $1.9 million in state grants from the Wisconsin Technical College System. The funds will support 18 newly approved projects, including a fast-track police academy, a Foundations of Teacher Education associate degree and a competency-based educational design for online business management. For the 15th consecutive year, Lakeshore Technical College was named a Military Friendly School by Viqtory.
Lakeland University will relocate its Green Bay Center to Northeast Wisconsin Technical College’s main campus. The center, one of six that Lakeland has in Wisconsin, will be housed in the College of Business building and will include an office presence and dedicated classroom.
Moraine Park Technical College has been named the top Wisconsin public sector employer, earning the state Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Pro Patria Award, from the U.S. Secretary of Defense. In addition, Moraine Park Technical College announced that 50 construction and industrial trade apprentices received the 2024 Tools of the Trade scholarships from Ascendium. Each apprentice received $2,000 to use toward the purchase of equipment, tools and clothing, tuition and more.
Wisconsin Fast Forward Program grants were given to Pulaski Community School District ($50,000), Chilton School District ($17,235) and Wittenberg-Birnamwood School District ($10,164). The grants are used to prepare students for careers in manufacturing through the purchase of equipment.
St. Norbert College is adding five new majors, five new minors, one new concentration and one new certificate program. Additions include an engineering physics major, robotics minor, sustainability minor, management major, finance major, marketing major, supply chain management major, digital marketing minor, data analytics minor, project management minor, game development concentration, and a certificate in arts management.
