Miron Construction has dropped a lawsuit filed over bids for a Leicht Park pavilion in Green Bay.
Miron had filed the suit against the city of Green Bay claiming that a bid from 8Pine Inc. based in Hatley, Wisconsin did not acknowledge addendums as required before the bid deadline.
Green Bay plans a $7 million Leicht Memorial Park improvement project with a new pavilion featuring concessions, restrooms, event space, an overlook deck with Fox River views and enhanced infrastructure. The pavilion project is estimated to cost around $5 million.
Miron said in a statement: “If the city had responded to Miron’s multiple inquiries, this matter could have been resolved without court intervention. Now that the city has acknowledged Miron’s concerns, Miron has elected not to pursue this dispute any further and will defer to the city’s decision to waive the bid discrepancies Miron identified.”
Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich said in a statement: “The city of Green Bay acted within its statutory authority and well-established discretion in evaluating bids for the Leicht Memorial Park Pavillion project. The city values the work we do with our private partners in the construction industry, and we are always interested in improving city processes to facilitate cost-effective and efficient work.”
