Miron Construction has filed a lawsuit seeking to stop the city of Green Bay from awarding a bid for the Leicht Park pavilion project to 8Pine Inc.
According to the suit and statements from Miron Executive Chairman Dave Voss, the bid from 8 Pine was not responsive to addendums in the bid documents. Specifically, it alleges that 8Pine did not acknowledge the addendums as required before the bid deadline. One of the addendums related to soil conditions at the site which Voss said could add singificant cost to the project.
“There’s a lot of things here, folks, that aren’t adding up,” Voss said at a Green Bay Redevelopment Authority meeting where the bids were considered. “The numbers don’t add up. The bid form from 8Pine doesn’t add up.”
Miron is seeking an injunction to halt the awarding of the bid to 8Pine and asks in the lawsuit for the court to declare Miron’s bid as the lowest responsible bid.
Green Bay plans a $7 miillion Leicht Memorial Park improvement project with a new pavilion featuring concessions, restrooms, event space, an overlook deck with Fox River views, and enhanced infrastructure. The pavilion project is estimated to cost around $5 million.
