The latest episode of NEW Manufacturing Insights, a joint podcast of the Northeast Wisconsin Manufacturing Alliance (NEWMA) and Insight on Manufacturing (IOM) magazine sponsored throughout the month of December by ICON Marketing, is now available for streaming and download.
New episodes will be posted on Thursdays at www.spreaker.com/show/new-manufacturing-insights, as well as through Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeartRadio, Google Podcasts and Amazon.
In the Dec. 14 episode, co-hosts Ann Franz of NEWMA and Kate Bruns of IOM spoke to Amy Kox, dean of trades and engineering technologies at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.
Kox talked about a number of exciting developments at NWTC and in her department, including a CNC open house taking place on the NWTC campus tonight.
The annual NEWMA vitality index has once again found that CNC machinists are the most in-demand position for Northeast Wisconsin manufacturers, and a record-setting gift from the Gene Haas Foundation recently named and ensured the future of the program at NWTC. But knowledge of the career and its benefits is still needed. “For those of you out there who are machinists, please tell people what a machinist does,” Kox urged NEW Manufacturing Insights listeners.

The next episode of NEW Manufacturing Insights, produced for NEWMA and Insight by Woodward Radio Group, will be released Thursday, Dec. 21.
