Allman talked about her career as a woman in manufacturing, including a long stint with Ford Motor Company, but says the last 10 years building ships with Fincantieri — where “there’s no such thing as a prototype” — have been the most rewarding of her career, and she’s passionate about inspiring the next generation of shipbuilders, male and female, through her work.
“It’s just really a proud industry to work in, because you can see the contribution it makes,” Allman told Franz and Bruns.
