Scott Baker and Pete Falk of the Green Bay nonprofit organization Aspiro joined co-hosts Ann Franz and Kate Bruns for the Dec. 21 episode, which spotlighted Aspiro’s employment programs for individuals with disabilities.

Falk said he and Baker direct the work program, which provides a safe environment for about 30-40 clients a day to learn job skills while working on real business contracts. These have included projects for the Green Bay Packers and the U.S. Presidential Inauguration, to name a few. It’s rewarding for the clients, and it’s also a rewarding career for Baker, he said.

“They’re so happy to be able to produce something — from starting a training program and not being able to do one step of a multiple step job to when they finish one piece, they’re so excited. It doesn’t matter if you do 20 a day or 200 a day, it’s just that joy of being able to participate and do something valuable each and every day. There’s a goal; there’s a purpose; they’re doing something in the community that’s helping — just like everybody else that goes to work every single day,” Baker said.
