St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System Board of Trustees announced the appointment of Terry Tyrrell as the new president of Xavier Catholic Schools.
Tyrrell brings with him a wealth of experience in Catholic education, most recently serving as President at Catholic Central High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
His appointment follows the resignation of interim president Katie Heim last month and the firings of high school principal Mike Mauthe and superintendent John Ravizza the previous month.
Mauthe was found to have violated the Diocese of Green Bay’s Our Promise to Protect policy. Ravizza’s termination was for failing to report Mauthe’s violation.
With over 27 years of experience, Tyrrell has served as president, principal, teacher, and coach in Catholic education. His selection followed an extensive and thorough search process conducted by Xavier President Search Commitee in partnership with consultants from Carney, Sandoe & Associates.
Tyrrell will officially start as Xavier’s new president July 1.
