Cherry Optical Lab, Green Bay, opened a new facility to house customer care, data entry, sales support, marketing, graphic design and public relations teams.

Edge Dairy Farmer Cooperative, Dairy Business Association and Minnesota Milk Producers Association announced a new umbrella brand, the Voice of Milk, bringing together three dairy organizations working on federal policy as well as state policy throughout the Midwest.

Woodward Communications, Inc., with stations in Appleton, has completed the purchase of seven radio station brands from Neuhoff Media in Springfield and Bloomington, Illinois. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Kundinger, a Wisconsin and Michigan-based company delivering products and solutions in fluid power, automation and process control to a wide range of industries, has acquired CCT Enterprises/Control Concepts Technology, based in Schofield.

Hurckman Mechanical Industries has acquired Van Den Heuvel Electric. This strategic move makes HMI a full-service mechanical, electrical and plumbing company in Northeast Wisconsin.

Blaze Sports & Fitness and Wisconsin Blaze, a youth AAU basketball and club volleyball program, opened a 22,000-square-foot addition at 230 S. McCarthy Road in Appleton.

Element, a fully integrated marketing agency, designed the logo for Green Bay Public Market.

Excelion Partners announced the acquisition of NEXGEN Recruiting, a leading engineering talent provider headquartered in Appleton.

Georgia-Pacific celebrated the completion of a $550 million expansion in Green Bay. The mill now has 6 million square feet of manufacturing space and eight paper machines. The company employs more than 1,700 people in Green Bay.

Worthington Enterprises, Inc. has begun a modernization project at its Chilton campus where it manufactures Bernzomatic and Mag-Torch hand torches and fuel cylinders. The project includes a new 58,000-square-foot building.

Construction

AmeriLux broke ground for a $40 million expansion on 23 acres in De Pere’s East Industrial Park. The new buildings will provide approximately 500,000 square feet of distribution and warehousing space. The company expects to add 100 jobs. Keller, Inc. is the architect and general contractor. In addition, Keller, Inc. is the general contractor and builder for U-Haul in Sturgeon Bay and the architect and general contractor/builder for a remodel of Stuc’s Pizza in Appleton.

McMahon has provided design and planning services for the first phase of the Appleton International Airport Business Park expansion project, including design of the Endeavour Drive extension, intersection modifications on State Highway 76, sanitary sewer, stormwater management, fiber optics and an expanded aircraft apron.

The $1.4 million Fox Valley Technical College Construction Training Center in Oshkosh was completed in September. The new facility allows students in the construction management technology associate degree program to fully construct and deconstruct a one-story, 1,000-square-foot mock building each semester.

Bayland Buildings hosted a groundbreaking for Vyper Industrial’s new 65,000-square-foot state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Wrightstown. The building will include office, production and warehousing areas, along with 2,308 square feet of executive mezzanine office space.

Grants

The Agnesian HealthCare Foundation recently hosted its 36th annual Charity Open, raising $455,000.

The Brillion Area Community Endowment Fund recently awarded more than $17,000 in grants to eight local organizations.

The Gordon Flesch Charitable Foundation announced it has awarded more than $179,000 to 39 Midwestern charities providing key community services, including $25,000 to Appleton area 501(c)(3) organizations.

Schreiber Foods, Inc. awarded a grant to New Leaf Foods, Inc. for the Brown County Seed Library collaborative project, which will help cover the costs of necessary supplies and expand the project’s capacity to provide educational programs to the public.

Bergstrom Automotive hosted Drive for A Cure in Appleton, Green Bay and Oshkosh to support breast cancer research programs in Wisconsin. This year the event raised $40,750.

UScellular has made a $41,250 donation to Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley to support its academic programming. This marks the 10th consecutive year of UScellular’s investment in the organization.

The Academy for the Interactive & Visual Arts, an invitation-only group of professionals in media, communications, marketing and advertising, awarded Blue Door Consulting with eight 2024 Communicator Awards. The Oshkosh-based agency’s work was selected from more than 3,000 global entries.

Four ThedaCare hospitals have received American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines – Stroke quality achievement awards. ThedaCare Medical Center – Berlinwas honored with a Stroke Silver Plus, Rural Stroke Bronze and Target Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll. ThedaCare Medical Center – New London received Rural Stroke Silver and Bronze. ThedaCare Regional Medical Center – Neenahreceived Stroke Gold Plus, Target: Stroke Advanced Therapy Honor Roll and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll. ThedaCare Medical Center – Waupaca received Get With The Guidelines – Rural Stroke Bronze.

Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce announced recipients of the Wisconsin Business Friend of the Environment Awards. Winners included Redline Plastics, Manitowoc; Plexus Corp., Neenah; RGL Logistics, Green Bay; and Mercury Marine, Fond du Lac.

J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc., Neenah, has been certified by Great Place To Work for the eighth year.

Security Health Plan announced the National Committee for Quality Assurance awarded its Medicare Advantage HMO-POS 4.5 out of 5 stars; its Commercial HMO-POS 4 out of 5 stars; and its Medicaid HMO plan 4 out of 5 stars.

Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport announced that United Ground Express serving GRB has been recognized with the Silver Safety Award for excellence by United Airlines.

The Oneida Nation announced it has successfully completed a review process to maintain national accreditation status through the Public Health Accreditation Board.

SECURA Insurance, Neenah, was named on the 2024 Rising Insurance Star Executives list for the third consecutive year. The list recognizes the 50 best internship programs in the insurance industry across the U.S.

Acuity Insurance was named Commercial Lines Carrier of the Year by The Insurance Alliance Network of Denver, Pennsylvania.

Moraine Park Technical College announced that the Higher Learning Commission has reaffirmed the institution’s accreditation through the 2033-34 academic year.

Lawrence University is the recipient of a 2024 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award from Insight Into Diversity magazine.

The Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce received a Wisconsin Innovation Award for its Connect Free membership program, which is a completely free membership level for qualified small businesses — companies with five or fewer employees, nonprofits with 10 or fewer employees, and freestanding restaurants.

Jewelers Mutual has been named an insurance luminary by PropertyCasualty360 in two categories: Technology Innovation and Risk Management Innovation.
