The Alliance Board of Directors appointed Curt Kubiak to be the new president and CEO of The Alliance effective June 10.
Kubiak is the founder and CEO of NOVO Health, a community of medical providers, suppliers and employers committed to upending traditional healthcare models and delivering affordable, accessible high-quality care. He has been with NOVO since its creation in 2014.
“Our healthcare delivery model is so antiquated that it must be completely remade from a clean slate, using modern processes, tools, and design principles,” said Kubiak. “My ambition is to significantly improve healthcare delivery (access, quality and cost) for our generation and future generations. I am working for my kids and yours, so most of their paychecks aren’t consumed by healthcare expenses.”

Sandi Rochon, current chief clinical integration officer for NOVO Health, will be the interim CEO. Kubiak will work with Rochon to ensure a smooth and orderly transition of leadership and strategic direction for the company.
Cheryl DeMars, president and CEO of The Alliance for over 17 years said, “Curt Kubiak is tailor-made to lead The Alliance. His background in lean manufacturing, and his experience applying these disciplines to the delivery of healthcare have fueled his passion and vision to make healthcare better and more affordable.” She continued, “Curt and I are working together to ensure a smooth transition. I’m looking forward to watching all that The Alliance will accomplish under his leadership, with the support of our amazing team and board of directors.”
Kubiak spent his early career at Plexus Corp., a global electronics manufacturing company. During his 15 years at Plexus, Kubiak learned the importance of lean manufacturing to produce better, more reliable results using fewer resources.
In 2007, Kubiak made the transition to healthcare, applying what he learned in manufacturing to establish The Orthopedic & Sports Institute of the Fox Valley. OSI was a pioneer in patient-centered orthopedic care, streamlining the process by eliminating steps that didn’t enhance patient outcomes.
In 2016, after seeing the success of lean manufacturing principles applied to orthopedics, Kubiak founded NOVO Health to expand this model to other specialty areas. The Alliance and NOVO Health then began working together to promote bundled healthcare services to The Alliance employer-members.
Kubiak received his bachelor of science degree from Marquette University, majoring in finance and international business with a minor in Spanish. He received his master’s in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
