Ripple Credit Union, 429 N. Sawyer St., Oshkosh, is celebrating its new brand launch taking effect Nov. 1.
The former Health Care Credit Union made the decision to refresh the name and the brand to reflect the credit union as open and inclusive to all.
This is not the first time the credit union has modified its name as it continues to grow and respond to market conditions. Ripple Credit Union was chartered in 1960, as Mercy Medical Center Credit Union. In June 1977, the credit union changed its name to Health Care Credit Union to provide products and services to anyone working in the healthcare field.
In 2014, its membership voted to open the charter to anyone living or working in Winnebago, Outagamie, or Fond du lac counties.
The new name selection and tagline “Small Waves. Big Possibilities” reflect the credit union’s philosophy that small, positive changes can have a profound ripple effect on the financial health of its members. The name also pays homage to the area’s surrounding lakes and waterways and the positive ripple effect the credit union’s members experience as a membership and community organization.
President Danielle Hilbert said, “We are excited about the brand and name change as it reflects how we have grown over recent years. While we remain a community based credit union, we are looking to continue our growth and be inclusive in our community to continue to serve our members. We believe the new brand better represents who we are in terms of how we respond to our membership’s needs and our openness to anyone looking to become a member.”
“The decision to rebrand the credit union was made during strategic planning sessions completed by the credit union’s board of directors,” said Dede Cummings, board chair. “We all agreed that for the future of the credit union a new name and refreshed look was in order. It is a competitive market, and in order for us to continue to grow, we need to appeal to more people.”
Ripple Credit Union invites their members and potential new members to join in celebrating the new brand on November 1, 2024. Light refreshments, treats, and giveaways will be provided in the lobby of their location at 429 N. Sawyer St., Oshkosh, WI.
