The Oshkosh Business Expo is marking the new decade with a Roaring β20s theme. The annual event provides a venue for anyone wanting to make connections or learn more about Fox Valley area businesses.
βItβs really (about) building those relationships and making those contacts because people do business with people they know,β says Karlie Schultz, member relations coordinator for the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce.
More than 100 businesses set up themed booths at the event, providing an opportunity for networking and learning about businessesβ products and services. The expo, which is held at the Oshkosh Convention Center, includes a Made Locally section that highlights products produced in the greater Oshkosh region. Companies also can sell their products and services and share job opportunities.
Exhibitors are invited to decorate their booths, create activities that match the eventβs theme and provide demonstrations. Many booths also include giveaways.
Schultz says seeing the creativity β some companies go all out β is a draw for the hundreds of visitors who attend each year. Companies have the chance to win first-, second- and third-place recognition for the best booth themes. Leading up to the event, exhibitors also can submit a promotional video to the chamber, which will share it on social media.
New this year, the chamber is partnering with Appleton International Airport for a travel giveaway. Attendees can pick up a passport and gather the requisite number of stamps for a chance to win the grand prize of a travel experience through the airport.
The day culminates in Business After Hours, which includes A Taste of Oshkosh. Attendees can sample food and beverages from area restaurants, caterers and breweries, including Fox River Brewing Co., Greeneβs Pour House and La Sureβs.
Limited exhibitor space is still available but is expected to fill soon. If interested in securing a space, contact Schultz at (920) 303-2265, ext. 16 or karlie@oshkoshchamber.com.
