Oshkosh Defense, an Oshkosh Corporation business, received a $53 million order today from the U.S. Army Contracting Command – Detroit Arsenal. The order is for Common Bridge Transporters (CBTs) under the Family of Heavy Tactical Vehicle V program.

The CBT allows units to keep combat formations advancing when terrain and threat conditions complicate mobility. The CBT, engineered to transport, launch and retrieve bridge bays and bridge erection boats, extends the Army’s mobility by delivering and positioning bridge assets that keep maneuver forces moving across wet gaps.

“Soldiers need mobility they can count on, especially when formations must stay supplied and moving during conflict,” said Pat Williams, chief programs officer for Oshkosh Defense. “The Common Bridge Transporter reflects the performance and reliability that define Oshkosh heavy tactical vehicles. We’re honored to continue supporting the U.S. Army with proven systems designed to perform in demanding, contested logistic environments.”

Current conflicts highlight the enduring need for reliable mobility, especially when units must operate under observation or threat. This order strengthens the Army’s ability to maintain freedom of movement in complex, high-risk environments.
