Plenty of promotions for Small Business Saturday

A variety of businesses and organizations are participating in Small Business Saturday, which was founded by American Express, but has since become a locally-focused promotion for small retailers.

Shoppers can check with local chambers of commerce or downtown business associations before heading out for a variety of promotions and lists of participating businesses. Below are some of the efforts in Northeast Wisconsin.

Downtown Appleton Inc. has a free passport program. Shoppers who collect stamps at five different businesses become eligible to win a prize. The grand prize is a $500 Allegiant Air gift card from Appleton Airport and a staycation with an overnight stay at CopperLeaf Hotel, $75 gift card for RYe and $75 gift card for Spa BenMarNicos.

Pick up a passport at the Downtown Appleton Inc. office, the Fox Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau, any Fox Communities Credit Union location or at any participating business before or on Saturday. A full list of passport pick-up spots and participating businesses can be found on Downtown Appleton’s website. Free street parking will also be available all-day Saturday .

Discover Oshkosh is launching its free, digitial Holly Jolly Holiday Pass. Check in and redeem discounts at participating locations on the Holly Jolly Holiday Pass from Nov. 29 to Dec. 31 and win prizes- including a sticker, steel mug, and winter beanie. Shoppers who spend more than $50 at downtown businesses located within the Downtown Oshkosh BID on Nov. 30, can bring your receipt into the Downtown/Discover Oshkosh offices from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and receive a free shop local tote

Downtown Green Bay, On Broadway and Military Avenue businesses are all participating in Small Business Saturday. Shoppers will be able to scan a QR code to enter a raffle to win one of three $250 gift baskets filled with goodies from shops across all four districts.

During Small Business Saturday in De Pere, shoppers will get a passport at any Shop Small Dine Small location. Each time shoppers make a purchase at a participating business, they will receive a passcode to fill in their passports and have a chance to win prizes.

The Harbor Centre Business Improvement District in Sheboygan is offering one-day-only specials on Nov. 30. The first 400 shoppers will receive a free bag filled with samples, and gifts from participating businesses. The swag bags will include Chamber Cash, and gifts from some of Sheboygan’s biggest companies including; Sargento, Johnsonville, 3 Sheeps andmothers.

The Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership is offering the Shop Small Sweepstakes.
