Local news about the companies, people and issues that impact business in Northeast Wisconsin and beyond.

This week’s episode of the NEW Manufacturing Insights podcast, sponsored by Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, features Barb LaMue, president and CEO of the 18-county economic development organization New North, Inc.

LaMue spoke with co-hosts Kate Bruns and Ann Franz about, among other topics, the organization’s upcoming 20th anniversary in 2025, its recent accreditation by the International Economic Development Council, and how the upcoming 2025 NFL draft in Green Bay will make an impact on economic development in Northeast Wisconsin.

After reflecting on 20 years of achievements, Franz asked LaMue to predict what the future will look like at New North, Inc.

“We all know things are moving at the speed of light. I don’t think we’ll be different in our focus; our focus for almost 20 years has been the recruitment and upskilling of talent and the recruitment of business into our region,” LaMue said. “So I don’t think our mission will change, but perhaps the way we go about accomplishing those two main buckets will change.”
