This week’s episode of the NEW Manufacturing Insights podcast, sponsored by Appleton Airport, features an interview with Greg Schrage. Schrage is treasurer of Mt. Calvary-based Advanced Tooling, Inc., which was just last month recognized by Insight as one of Wisconsin’s Best Places to Work in Manufacturing.
Schrage tells co-hosts Kate Bruns and Ann Franz about ATI’s experience attending the first-ever awards Nov. 13 at Lambeau Field, when ATI was revealed as the second-best scoring company in the state. He says ATI had never participated in an employee engagement survey before, and it was gratifying to see the results.
He was surprised, but also not surprised, by the company’s high ranking; ATI’s initial motivation for participating was not necessarily to win an award. He says the quantity of employee engagement activities offered by ATI really helped it rise to the top.
“The initial thought was to gather feedback to see how we were doing, and having the benchmarking to go with it,” Schrage tells the co-hosts. “As much as we went into this trying to get feedback on what we do and how we can compete, it was a pleasant surprise.”
NEW Manufacturing Insights is a joint production of the NEW Manufacturing Alliance and Insight on Manufacturing magazine, produced by B.J. DeGroot of Woodward Community Media.
