Weston Timmers, project manager for Werner Electric Supply Co., joins co-hosts Ann Franz of the Northeast Wisconsin Manufacturing Alliance and Kate Bruns of Insight on Manufacturing magazine on this week’s episode of the NEW Manufacturing Insights podcast, sponsored throughout the month of July by The Boldt Company.
Timmers gives listeners a preview of Werner’s upcoming IN4M conference at Lambeau Field, which will be held Aug. 20-21. He also elaborated on some of the Industry 4.0 insights he shared with Bruns for the July 2024 IOM cover story, which takes a closer look at the results of NEWMA’s 2024 Industry 4.0 Talent & Technology Survey.
“Industry 4.0 really means so many different things to different people,” Timmers tells the co-hosts. “My take on Industry 4.0 is really taking the automated equipment we have from Industry 3.0 … and taking the data that’s produced from that automated equipment and making real-time decisions with it. It’s fun, because we get to see customers all across the spectrum and help them define those goals and get to those goals.”
Listen to the full episode online or anywhere you get podcasts, and listen to the end to find out what Timmers says is his best leadership insight. New episodes of NEW Manufacturing Insights are available on Thursdays, with each guest sharing their best leadership tip to close the show.
NEW Manufacturing Insights is a joint production of Insight Publications and NEWMA, produced by B.J. DeGroot of Woodward Community Media.
