On this week’s episode of the NEW Manufacturing Insights podcast, Ben and Amy Bertram, owners of Fiberglass Solutions, join co-hosts Ann Franz of the NEW Manufacturing Alliance and Kate Bruns of Insight on Manufacturing to talk about the rewards and challenges of owning a family business, what’s made of fiberglass that you may not have thought about, and why Green Bay is the place for them to pursue their business dreams.
This week’s episode, like all January episodes of NEW Manufacturing Insights, is sponsored by Werner Electric Supply.
The Bertrams purchased Fiberglass Solutions in 2018 and quickly grew the company from two to 20 employees and relocated from a 9,000-square-foot to a 34,000-square-foot facility in Ashwaubenon. Today the company has found its niche producing fiberglass products such as brine tanks for the cheese industry, minnow transport tanks and swimming pool filter basins in smaller quantities for customers nationwide.
“We’re still learning as we go, but I think there’s a lot of opportunity out there,” Ben Bertram tells the co-hosts on this week’s episode. One of the Bertrams’ favorite opportunities, they say on the podcast, was refurbishing the sideline benches at Lambeau Field last year.
