Séura co-founders Tim and Gretchen Gilbertson join co-hosts Ann Franz of the Northeast Wisconsin Manufacturing Alliance and Kate Bruns of Insight on Manufacturing magazine on this week’s episode of the NEW Manufacturing Insights podcast, sponsored throughout the month of June by Wisconsin Paper Group.
The Gilbertsons share the story of the founding of their business and talk about why they chose to take a leap of faith and start the company after attending a showcase of homes event. Their technology unites what Tim describes as a thousand-year-old technology, the mirror, with the ever-evolving world of televisions and smart devices.
“As we’re talking about where tech is going, we’re continuing to expand our portfolio of complete mirror solutions,” Tim tells the co-hosts.
Gretchen Gilbertson says she and her husband both brought product development backgrounds into the founding of Séura and learned a lot about entrepreneurship on the fly as they launched their business in Green Bay. Today, she says they have no regrets about founding the company in the New North region as opposed to a larger market like Chicago.
“The quality of the people we have here in Green Bay is second to none,” she says. “We feel like we have it pretty good here. The reason we decided to stay was the quality of the workforce.”
