Bryan and Maria Perl of Spark Ops Metalworks visited the Woodward Community Media studios to record the 41st episode of the NEW Manufacturing Insights podcast, hosted by Ann Franz of the Northeast Wisconsin Manufacturing Alliance and Kate Bruns of Insight on Manufacturing magazine.

Bryan was interviewed on the show, which is sponsored by The Boldt Company, but Maria is also the company’s owner. Bryan Perl says he has been starting businesses for years, but Spark Ops is his first major foray into manufacturing.

“From OEM to our own patented products now, we do end to end manufacturing,” Perl told the co-hosts, noting that Spark Ops received a patent in April for a steel and aluminum truss component that has made the firm, which opened in 2022, famous.

“We build staging for Fox Sports, NFL Network, ESPN … any kind of sporting broadcast you see on TV, we probably built for them,” he said.
