Local news about the companies, people and issues that impact business in Northeast Wisconsin and beyond.

Hope Voigt, who has served as chief operating officer for the De Pere-based mechanical contracting firm Tweet Garot since 2016, was recently promoted to the additional role of company president. A certified public accountant with an MBA, Voigt was praised in her promotion announcement by Tweet Garot CEO Chris Howald as having been instrumental in driving operational excellence and strategic growth at the firm.

This week Voigt joins the NEW Manufacturing Insights podcast with co-hosts Kate Bruns of Insight on Manufacturing magazine and Ann Franz of the NEW Manufacturing Alliance to talk about being a woman leader in a male dominated industry, as well as how and why Tweet Garot has been an essential partner in the Northeast Wisconsin business community for 128 years.

Voigt appears on the podcast as IOM has released its latest issue featuring a cover story about the state of women in manufacturing. Voigt says she views her role as a woman in leadership as an important opportunity to uplift others.

“One of the things I like to say is ‘If you can’t see it; you can’t be it,'” she tells the co-hosts on this week’s episode. “I try to be that for women coming up through construction and manufacturing, to be that person you can see.”
