As the 18-year-old Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council becomes an independent nonprofit in 2025 and rebrands as the Sustainable Business Council, Associate Director Christa Kananen says enthusiasm for sustainability efforts in the New North business community is strong as ever.
“What’s great is a lot of the companies that I work with, a lot of them are privately held manufacturers, we find that they’re actually doing a lot of what we would consider sustainability,” she says. “They’re already operating that way because it’s just good business.”
Kananen shares this insight and many more on this week’s episode of the NEW Manufacturing Insights podcast, sponsored by Wisconsin Public Service.
Kananen tells co-hosts Kate Bruns and Ann Franz about her work leading the SBC’s celebrated Green Masters Program, the “Cool Choices” initiative and business consulting for the organization, as well as closes the show in signature style by offering up her best leadership insight.
