“I have a hot list of favorite podcasts, but my favorite is ‘Armchair Expert’ with Dax Shepard. Equal parts funny, insightful, entertaining and educational, Dax takes his listeners on quite a ride with every episode. Most people who only know Dax from his acting roles where he typically plays the loveable goofball will be pleasantly surprised with this podcast. Dax graduated magna cum laude from UCLA with a B.A. in anthropology, he’s 14 years sober, was abused as a kid and grew up poor and often hungry. His interviews with celebrities often leave me with uncontrollable giggles, and the life lessons he shares are just as powerful.”

“As a parent of a high school freshman, I find myself reaching for my wallet every time my boy looks my way or I drop him somewhere. “I recently read ‘The Loneliest Generation: Americans, More Than Ever, Are Aging Alone’ in The Wall Street Journal. This article really hit home for me. I am an introvert, and I see myself heading in the direction of isolation, loneliness and depression. Until I read this article, I did not realize how much of an epidemic this is becoming. We all need to understand the importance of actively participating with others, be it in group settings, for coffee, choir or a book club. Do what you love but surround yourself with others who can love you.”

“Initially, I was drawn to ‘Shoe Dog’ by Phil Knight because of the influence Nike’s ‘Just Do It’ campaign had on advertising and my choice of careers. Once in, it didn’t disappoint as it also showed the evolution of Nike through Knight’s insane curiosity about everything, which I could relate to, along with his resolution to never settle for less … Lastly, what made this book a must-read is how he honestly lays out his doubts and insecurities, which makes it personal and enables you to join him on his journey.”
