The Indigenous Cannabis Industry Association (ICIA) will host its third annual Wisconsin Cannabis Industry and Policy Summit on Feb. 27 at Crandon’s Mole Lake Casino Lodge. The statewide cannabis summit brings together Wisconsin industries for continued education, networking, and collaboration.

A keynote address will be provided by Dr. Joseph Rosado, a leader in the effort to destigmatize cannabis in health care. Rosado will provide evidence-based data on cannabis treatments for PTSD and opioid dependency. Wellness and education speakers will also include experts on the medical, social, and economic benefits of cannabis, featuring perspectives from veterans, law enforcement, educators, and health care providers.

Industrial hemp experts from across the region will attend to share best practices related to hemp farming and processing. The summit will dive into agricultural initiatives, supply chain solutions, and the revitalization of Wisconsin’s hemp industry as a climate-smart commodity.

Experts from national industry organizations and throughout the supply chain will discuss best practices for navigating the intersection of medicinal and recreational legislation. The ICIA, which facilitated the launch of the Wisconsin Tribal Task Force on Cannabis and its ongoing Wisconsin Wellness campaign last year to promote the accessibility of plant medicine in Wisconsin, will provide insight to legislative updates that are shaping the future of cannabis policy and the Farm Bill in Wisconsin.
