U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth will speak at Oshkosh Corp. Monday as part of his “Arsenal of Freedom” tour.
Hegseth will travel to Omaha, Nebraska to visit U.S. Strategic Command Headquarters and will deliver remarks at Oshkosh Corporation to workers and leaders in Oshkosh Aug. 24.
According to an advisory from the Department of Defense, the Pentagon’s “Arsenal of Freedom” tour is a “call to action to revitalize America’s manufacturing might and re-energize the nation’s workforce.”
“The tour will champion a new approach to defense acquisition, one that prioritizes and awards speed, innovation, and a ‘commercial-first’ mindset. This includes cutting bureaucratic red tape, empowering program leaders, and providing the stable, long-term contracts necessary for industry to invest and expand.”
Oshkosh Corporation’s defense business manufactures tactical vehicles and has several contracts with the U.S. military.
