Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes has reached an agreement to sell Camp Cuesta in Baileys Harbor to the Door County Land Trust. Located adjacent to the Door County Land Trust’s 281-acre Kangaroo Lake Nature Preserve, the 24-acre property will continue to be used as a Girl Scouts camp.

Foth Infrastructure & Environment, LLC, Green Bay, will acquire the assets of Olsen Associates, Inc., a coastal engineering firm based in Jacksonville, Florida.

U-Haul Moving & Storage of Fox Cities North opened a new facility at 1550 Arbor Way, Kaukauna, with 1,005 indoor self-storage units, including heated and climate-controlled options.

Prevea Health and HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center have added the Robotic Surgical Assistant (ROSA) to its fleet of advanced surgical technology. ROSA helps surgeons tailor procedures, including knee and hip replacements, to the specific anatomy of each patient.

3 Sheeps Brewing Company, Sheboygan, partnered with Door County Brewing Co. and Hacienda Beer Co. to open the Triple Taproom at Hacienda Taproom and Kitchen on the east side of Milwaukee. 3 Sheeps has produced and packaged Door County Brewing Co. since 2020 and Hacienda Beer Co. products since earlier this year.

M3 Insurance announced the launch of Ethica Pharmacy Advisors, a pharmacy solutions consultancy to help plan sponsors manage prescription drug costs through advice, financial analysis and clinical resources.

J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc. has introduced a new HR-focused option for members of its Compliance Network online solution. The new add-on, called Human Resources EDGE, responds to employers’ growing need for easily accessible HR expertise.

PMI Entertainment Group has reached an agreement with Vern’s Cheese, Chilton, to provide fresh cheese curds the day of events at the Resch Center and Resch Expo. The new partnership means there will be fresh curds on game days for the Bart Starr Plaza Tailgate Party. Throughout the year, Vern’s Cheese will be used for catering and for charcuterie boards on the suite level of the Resch Center.

Duxxbak Composite Decking, Green Bay, has partnered with AmeriLux International, a leader in the distribution of building materials.

KP Tech, a premier mergers and acquisitions firm headquartered in Germany, has joined the Cornerstone International Alliance, Green Bay.

Kundinger, a Wisconsin- and Michigan-based company delivering fluid power, automation, process control, products and solutions to a wide range of industries, added AUBO Robotics USA to its automation solutions offerings.

The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation, Wisconsin Towns Association, Wisconsin Electric Cooperative Association and The Welch Group announced the formation of the Rural Policy Institute.

GDC IT Solutions, with a Midwest headquarters in Kaukauna, acquired Intrac Technology, an information technology service provider serving customers in the region for more than 20 years.

Greater Green Bay YMCA’s new location at the Urban Edge Towne Centre off Lineville Road in Suamico will open in September.

Thario Building Services, Green Bay, formerly owned by Rodger and Diane Thario, was acquired by 4M Building Solutions, St. Louis. Terms of the sale were not disclosed. Thario employs 290 people who clean 8 million square feet daily.

The new 18-hole Shorewood Disc Golf Course on the UW-Green Bay campus officially opened in August. It was designed by disc golf pro Cale Leiviska.

Lakeland Care Inc. has opened a new office in Waupaca.

The Neenah Animal Shelter moved into a new facility at 2475 Progress Court July 20, 2024. Its old property located at 951 County Road G consists of a building, a pond and a pet cemetery, which is being relocated to Forrest Run Pet Cemetery in Sherwood. The cemetery relocation took place in August.


Construction

McMahon is providing architectural design, structural engineering, civil engineering, field administration and construction observation for the Valley Cabinet project in De Pere; designed the interior of Summit Credit Union’s new location in Appleton; and provided architectural, interior design, structural, plumbing and electrical services for the new ThedaCare Behavioral Health Clinic in Waupaca.

Construction is underway for The Reserve on Arbor Way senior living community in the Commerce Crossing PUD in Kaukauna. It is expected to open in 2026 and employ around 150 people. The architecture and design firm EUA, general contractor Consolidated Construction Company and senior living management company Frontida Management Group are working with The Reserve and the city of Kaukauna to develop the project. It is owned by JFB Enterprises, LLC.

Keller, Inc. is the architect and general contractor/builder on a 13,192-square-foot remodel project for Urology Associates of Green Bay, 1385 Main Ave. in Ashwaubenon, as well as a 7,500-square-foot, ground-up dental office project for Westhill Dental in Greenville.

Wisconsin Institute of Plastic Surgery & Dermatology held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new facility at 4100 N. Lightning Drive, Appleton.

Grande Cheese broke ground for a 60,000-square-foot expansion of its plant in Chilton. In addition to the new construction, Grande will renovate 20,000 square feet. Construction is expected to be complete in mid 2026. The plant will become Grande’s third largest and will produce primarily mozzarella cheese. It will employ 75 people.

Door County Parks Department began construction on a 2,400-square-foot addition to its existing building at 916 N. 14th Ave. in Sturgeon Bay. The project, being completed by Bayland Buildings, will involve remodeling the existing space and adding new offices and bathrooms for staff. It is expected to be completed in fall 2024. Bayland also recently completed Martor USA’s new 26,000-square-foot manufacturing facility within Hobart Business Park.


Grants

Acuity Insurance, Sheboygan, announced that the 2024 Acuity Neonatal Run/Walk raised more than $20,000 for the Aurora Medical Center – Sheboygan County Neonatal Unit. Acuity’s matching donation increased the total to $40,000.

Compeer Financial’s Fund for Rural America, the Farm Credit cooperative’s giving program, has awarded 42 general use grants totaling nearly $197,000. Northeast Wisconsin recipients were Fond du Lac County United Way and Fondy Food Center Inc.


Awards

Society Insurance, Fond du Lac, recently had its overall financial strength affirmed as A- (Excellent) with Stable Outlook by international rating agency AM Best Rating Services.

The Bank of Kaukauna was named one of the top 20 commercial lenders $300 million and under by Independent Banker.

Aurora Medical Center – Oshkosh and Aurora Medical Center – Manitowoc County have received national recognition by the American Society for Health Care Engineering as Energy to Care Sustainability Champions. ASHE is a program of the American Hospital Association.

SCORE Fox Cities announced the winner of the 2024 Rudy Cherkasky Small Business Scholarship for 2024: Your Mechanic Shop in Shiocton. Your Mechanic Shop, owned and operated by Yupheng Moua and Coua Xiong, provides a variety of auto mechanic services to the greater Fox Cities region.

Summit Credit Union, a member-owned financial cooperative, is the top mortgage lender in the state of Wisconsin, according to data collected under the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act.

SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital has received the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines – Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award and was named to the Stroke Elite Honor Roll and the Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll.

Bellin Hospital has received its ninth consecutive five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

The Wisconsin Innovation Awards announced the 31 finalists for its 2024 awards, recognizing the state’s most innovative and forward-thinking companies and individuals.The finalists from Northeastern Wisconsin are: Fox Cities Chamber, Appleton; Hovertoon, Berlin; and InMEDBio LLC, Oshkosh.


Education

Lakeland University is launching a streamlined engineering technology bachelor’s degree completion program. Lakeland’s bachelor of science in engineering technology is for students with associate degrees in engineering, engineering technology, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering or a closely related field.

The Vollrath Company is partnering with Lakeshore Technical College’s Workforce Solutions division to provide 479 employees with 700 hours of training supported through a Workforce Advancement Training grant. The $86,000 of training will focus on manufacturing, leadership, quality and safety.

Lawrence University has acquired the historic Courtney Woolen Mill at 301 E. Water St. in Appleton. Plans for the facility are still being developed.

SSM Health and the North Fond du Lac Fire Department have partnered to review and sharpen skills related to sports equipment removal, head and neck (cervical spine) injury scenarios and immobilization techniques. Ryan Johnson, an SSM Health high school outreach athletic trainer, recently spent time collaborating with the North Fond du Lac Fire Department team during two training sessions.

Besse Forest Products Group closed three Wisconsin facilities, including one in Mattoon and another in Goodman, laying off 136 people.

New North Inc., in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Office of Great Waters and a grant from the Fund for Lake Michigan, is forming a community advisory committee to identify and act on the watershed’s environmental opportunities for the Lower Green Bay and Fox River Area of Concern, and the Green Bay Conservation Blueprint.

Bellin Health Sports Medicine has partnered with Green Bay She Runs This Town, a free women’s fitness club that encourages women of all ages and abilities to find fun and camaraderie through physical activity.
