Marbleseed’s 2024 Organic Farmers of the Year award goes to a family team of five farmers who are the owner/operators of Full Circle Community Farm: Rick Adamski, Valerie Dantoin, Andrew Adamski, Heather Toman and Scott Rosenberg.

For more than 20 years, this award has been used to recognize farmers who use innovative practices on their organic farms and share their experiences to help other organic farmers succeed in the Midwest. Farmers of the Year are Certified Organic producers in the Midwest.

Based in Seymour, Full Circle Community Farm has been in the Adamski family for 125 years. Rick Adamski and Valerie Dantoin ran an organic dairy for 30 years. A multi-generation operation, Rick and Val have now transitioned Full Circle Community Farm to the next generation, Andrew, Heather and Scott. The diversified farm now raises certified organic, 100% grass-fed beef, organic pastured pork, and an organic CSA vegetable operation providing weekly vegetables and other locally produced foods to about 150 families each week. The farm also employs 3-8 people, depending on the season.

“It takes a village to operate a farm” says Valerie, “and that’s why this ‘farmer’ of the year is really a team effort of farmers, plural. We are truly grateful and honored to be chosen. So many other well-respected farmers have received this award and its awesome to join their company.”

Rosenberg, the newest team member and co-owner-manager shares, “My reaction to receiving the award is gratitude and happiness. Also, a weird sense of relief, like I’m not just doing what I do in a vacuum people and notice the good we do and feel that it’s making a positive impact.”

Adamski said, “Feeding people while regenerating the ecosystem is the most important thing I can do.”
