Sheboygan South High School (SHS) student artists Koi Vang and Evelyn Meyer created a limited-edition root beer label in partnership with 3 Sheeps Brewing.
The label, selected from multiple student concepts, features iconic elements of the 3 Sheeps Brewing brand — such as the signature sheep, a waterslide waterfall and the brewery itself. The final design showcases cartoon-like sheep tubing down a river, evoking childhood memories of fun and adventure. A standout feature of this label is an interactive, removable sticker, a first for the brewery, making it both collectible and playful.

The idea for this collaboration originated with Gretchen Tillman, a community member who saw a similar sticker label concept online. Recognizing the potential for a local project, she reached out to SHS art teacher Brian Sommersberger and 3 Sheeps Marketing Communications Manager Josh Aschenbach to bring the idea to life.
With full support from 3 Sheeps founder and head brewer Grant Pauly, the students embarked on a creative journey that challenged them to merge artistic expression with real-world branding and marketing considerations. Aschenbach encouraged the students to embrace the nostalgia of root beer, pushing them to refine their designs through multiple iterations.
“I was hard on them. Every little detail mattered,” said Aschenbach. The students embraced the challenge, working diligently under the guidance of SHS Art Teachers Kevin Bazan and Sommersberger.
“A lot of ideas were scratched. We didn’t know what we were doing at first, but eventually, we got the label created,” Vang said of the experience.
As part of the project, Vang and Meyer visited the 3 Sheeps Brewing facility on March 4, where they watched the canning process, saw their completed label on cans and toured the brewery with Pauly.

“This project was an incredible experience for our students, providing hands-on learning that aligns with college and career readiness which are our goals at South High School,” said Sommersberger. “Seeing their artwork on the final product was a powerful moment for the students, reinforcing the impact of their hard work and creativity. Designing a label that will be sold on a product — how cool is that?”
3 Sheeps Brewing will donate all proceeds from the root beer sales to the South High School art department. The exclusive soda will be available in four packs while supplies last at the 3 Sheeps Taproom.
The price of the four packs is set at $5 with a release date of March 21.
3 Sheeps Brewing was founded in 2011 and is Wisconsin’s third largest craft brewery. The brewery and taproom are located in Sheboygan. 3 Sheeps Brewing distributes craft beer and Cloudless Hard Seltzer throughout Wisconsin and the Eastern regions of Minnesota. In 2024, 3 Sheeps opened a satellite taproom in Milwaukee’s Triple Taproom in partnership with Hacienda Brewing Co. in Milwaukee and Door County Brewing.
