Abacus Architects, Inc. announced a new leadership team with principal designer Eric Halbur as president and CEO. Halbur, who joined Abacus Architects in 2013 as an architectural designer and project manager, will be responsible for the overall leadership and strategic growth of the firm.
“I am extremely blessed and grateful to the founders of Abacus, and for their confidence in me to make sure we carry on their legacy,” Halbur said.
In addition to Halbur, the executive team includes Paul Mentink, vice president and chief operating officer; Joel Van Ess, treasurer and chief financial officer; and David Van Dixhorn, chief development officer.
The firm was set up to intentionally plan for successions, giving existing and future associates the opportunity of ownership. Robert Heimerl, a registered architect, is one of four founding members, along with Kurt Davis, Mentink and Van Ess.
