Randy Munns, executive vice president and chief operating officer for Festival Foods, has been selected as the 2024 Grocer of the Year by the Wisconsin Grocers Association.
Starting in 1991, Munns’ journey through the merchandising channels culminated in his current role as chief operating officer of Skogen’s Festival Foods Group in 2021. Under his leadership, Festival Foods has expanded to 43 stores as of 2024.
Munns helped create the Hometown Grocers Group. This initiative, launched to help small communities retain their local grocery stores, has grown to nine stores in two years and continues to expand.
He was nominated by Mike Jankovich of UNFI, a wholesale distribution company.
“Randy has been a champion of a management style that emphasizes respect and growth, connecting with everyone from executive leaders to hourly associates,” Jankovich said.
