Wisconsin’s state-chartered credit unions reported sound financial performance through the second quarter of 2026, according to data released today by the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions (DFI). As of June 30, 2026, there were 96 state-chartered credit unions serving Wisconsin residents.
At the end of the second quarter, total assets for Wisconsin’s state-chartered credit unions rose to $73.4 billion. This is an increase of $3.0 billion since year-end 2025. Over the same time, loans outstanding grew by $1.8 billion, and shares and deposits rose $2.7 billion. This resulted in a decrease to the loan-to-share ratio from 91.32% at year-end 2025 to 90.36%.
In the six months ending on June 30, 2026:
- Net worth to assets increased to 10.97%;
- Delinquent loan to total loan ratio was 0.69%, a decrease from the year-end ratio of 0.77%;
- Net income was strong at over $404.1 million, 1.12% return on average assets; and
- Growth ratios were all positive.
