United States Cellular Corp. (USCC) in late March announced plans to sell all of its wireless operations, customers and approximately 30% of its licensed spectrum to T-Mobile US Inc.

As a result, the company said that approximately 4,100 employees would be permanently separated from employment with USCC Management Services LLC at personal locations used by employees working remotely, as well as the corporate-owned locations listed here, which include several from Dane County and across Wisconsin.

In its initial announcement, USCC said that employment separations had been planned to commence on June 2 or within 14 days thereafter, and it had made arrangements with T-Mobile to offer employment to a majority of the affected employees at a salary or wage rate with benefits that were no less favorable than those they previously held.

An update provided July 2, USCC said that T-Mobile has completed the process of offering employment to a majority of the affected employees as planned, but the anticipated closing date of the transaction was rescheduled.
