American Foundry Society Casting of the Year, 2022
A few years ago, Kiel-based custom equipment manufacturer Amerequip and Waupaca Foundry, North America’s leading supplier of cast and machined iron castings, teamed up to create the world’s first cast-iron bucket attachment — an innovation one American Foundry Society judge described as “a conversion that will inspire others.” The 12-inch bucket attachment for a John Deere compact utility tractor is on the cutting edge of conversion technology, and Amerequip VP Tim Dorn told IOM in July 2022 that the proximity to Wisconsin’s world-class foundries has been supply chain “gold” for his firm as it has won multiple “casting of the year” honors.
