The Women’s Fund for the Fox Valley awards more than $72,000

The Women’s Fund for the Fox Valley Region has awarded more than $72,000 in grant funding this year.

“‘These grants represent more than just financial support; they are an investment in the future of the Fox Valley by ensuring women and girls have the resources, safety, and opportunities they deserve,” said Julie Keller, Executive Director of the Women’s Fund for the Fox Valley Region.

The $72,000 in funding was distributed among several key area organizations, including:

  • CAP Services – Guaranteed Income Project – $20,000 to support a bold new approach to economic stability for women that provides an unrestricted stipend to women in the Skill Enhancement program for addressing challenges that could otherwise disrupt their progress towards their goals.
  • Casa Hispana – Parent Peer Support Group for Latinas: $4,480 to support the success of Latinas, particularly mothers and their children, through a Spanish speaking parent peer advocate located within the Family Resource Center.
  • COTS – Empowering Women Through Strong Foundations to Break the Cycle of Homelessness: $5,000 – uplifting female residents through mentoring, life skills, and self-advocacy training to support them in leaving homelessness.
  • First 5 Fox Valley – Growing Parent Leadership $5,440 – facilitating a parent leadership training project to grow the knowledge, leadership skills and confidence of women in the Parent Ambassadors group to become leaders and trainers of other parents
  • HeadsUp Fox Cities – Stability Starts With Her – $4,480 – providing a trauma-informed, women-centered program supporting young women aging out of foster care by providing stable housing, basic needs, life skills, and mentorship.
  • Long Cheng Community Center – Nkauj Hmoob Rising: Empowering our Future Leaders- $8,500 – providing a culturally grounded leadership, mentoring, wellness, and financial capability program for Hmong girls ages 11 to 17.
  • Safe Families for Children – Strengthening Families: Enhancing Capacity for Long-Term Family Success – $5,000 – supplying mothers with nonjudgmental community support through practical assistance and temporary care for children, allowing mothers the opportunity to pursue housing, employment, healthcare, or treatment without fear of family separation.
  • Samaritan – Reclaiming Balance and Belonging: Single Parent Support Group – $5,000 – providing ongoing emotional support, reducing isolation, and creating trusted peer relationships by combining education with relationship-centered peer connection.
  • SiSTAR Society Academy of Excellence – SiSTAR Rising: Empowering Women and Girls Through Mentorship & Life Skills – $8,000 – building confidence, strengthen identity, and develop tools to navigate personal, educational, and economic challenges through facilitated group sessions and mentorship connections.
  • Wisconsin Early Childhood Association – Child Care Advocacy: Mobilizing the Fox Valley for a Sustained Public Investment – $6,600 – providing listening sessions, delivering advocacy trainings, and leading community conversations to elevate the urgent need for public investment in child care.
