Edge Dairy Farmer Cooperative is celebrating National Cheese Day June 4 to create awareness and appreciation for the impact cheese has on America.

The campaign showcases five Edge members: Heidi Fischer, Fischer-Clark Dairy; David Elliott, Drumgoon Dairy; Sandy Larson, Larson Acres; Josh Meissner, Norm E Lane and Aaron Jones, Jones Dairy. The members, representing three different states, shared their story and passion for producing high-quality, nutritious milk that is made into a variety of cheese products.

“Cheese manufacturing has become a critical driver of the broader U.S. dairy economy, which starts with high-quality milk production at the farm level,” said Tim Trotter, Edge CEO. “That’s why at Edge we’re committed to advancing policies that strengthen America’s farms, enhance cheese production and sustain the next generation of dairy leaders.”

Across Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Iowa, the dairy sector generates an estimated economic impact of nearly $85 billion annually and supports nearly 192,000 jobs tied to farming, dairy processing and related industries, according to Trotter.
