Trout Springs Winery has added an outdoor statuary garden that features 15 life-sized masterpieces hand-carved from authentic white, beige and black Carrera marble.

Iconic works including Michelangelo’s David, Giambologna’s The Rape of the Sabine Women, Antonio Canova’s The Three Graces, The Capitoline Wolf with Romulus and Remus, Donatello’s St George Slaying the Dragon are displayed on custom pedestals, harmonizing with a 16-foot waterfall, a 22-foot moon bridge, and ancient olive trees, along with the Italian cazebo featuring the 6 Caryatids of the Erechthion

“This Sanctuary Garden is a 41-year labor of love—a physical manifestation of the same persistence it required to establish the Wisconsin Ledge AVA as a federally recognized wine region,” said Steven DeBaker. “We have created an inner sanctum where art, history, and nature intersect.”

DeBaker, with his wife Andrea, is the owner of Trout Springs Winery and Trout Hatchery and the father of the Wisconsin Ledge American Viticulutral Area.

Statuary garden access is limited to four guests per hour per appointment. Each self-guided journey is enhanced by a custom AI-narrated app, detailing the mythology of the statues and the engineering of the landscape and garden design and construction. The garden is child-free and pet-free. The experience includes a curated charcuterie plate and a glass of award-winning estate wine.

Trout Springs Winery is the only Winery and Trout Hatchery facility in Wisconsin recognized by the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council as a Green Master.
