WATCH: NEWMA videos feature Door County products and careers

The Northeast Wisconsin Manufacturing Alliance partnered with Door County manufacturers in videos that feature products they make and career opportnities in Door County.

“So many people think of Door County as a tourist destination, but the area has a strong manufacturing base,” said Ann Franz, executive director for the organization. “The videos are in part to help residents understand what is made and the numerous careers available.”

The companies that are featured in the Door County video are Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding, Hatco Corp., Marine Travelift and Therma-Tron-X. The products made are numerous from Navy vessels to waste water treatment systems.

Jacob Fineberg, a welder at Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding said, “I’m always happy to say that I build ships for the US Navy. It’s a great feeling that I’m doing something for my country.”

The products made have a global reach.

Abby Grommett, a sales engineer with Therma-Tron-X said, ‘It’s pretty impressive that this small town of roughly 10,000 people that is manufacturing something larger than the building.” She added ‘it’s going around the globe.” To view the video on What is Made in Door county: .

The “Career Opportunities in Door County” feature numerous job positions. The video lets the viewer hear directly from people working in the field sharing what they do and why they enjoy their position.

Andy Carrao with Hatco Corp. said, “I’ve been here 3 years and I have already advanced to a management position.”

Jen Nixon with Marine Travelift shared what she likes best is the company culture. “We really are one big family.”
