Housing projects in Plymouth, Green Bay, Manitowoc, Sturgeon Bay and Oshkosh are benefitting from loans through the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority.
WHEDA will loan $50 million to support 22 new housing developments across 10 counties, creating nearly 1,900 workforce housing units in communities across the state. The funding is provided by the Vacancy-to-Vitality, Infrastructure Access, and Restore Main Street loan programs.
The Vacancy-to-Vitality Loan helps convert vacant commercial buildings into workforce or senior housing. The projects expand housing without new land use and often have lower infrastructure demands and shorter development timelines than projects on empty land.
Projects in Northeast Wisconsin receiving funds are:
- 1111 Reed St., Plymouth, $2.6 million
- Avenue Phase 2, Sturgeon Bay, $1.9 million
- Monroe, Green Bay, $6.3 million
- White Label Lofts, Oshkosh, $908,971
- West River Lofts Manitowoc, $1.6 million
In addition, West River Lofts will receive a $682,500 Infrastructure Access Loan.
