Wisconsin budget surplus projected to reach $2.5 billion

The state’s budget may improve by $1.5 billion, Wisconsin Public Radio reports.

The Legislative Fiscal Bureau estimates the state will have a $2.5 billion balance when the two-year budget concludes June 30, 2027. Initial estimates had put that figure at $1 billion.

Projections are based on tax collected and revenue from corporate and income taxes.
