WNAM 1280 AM, a Cumulus Media radio station based in Neenah, will go off the air at the end of the year.
The station, which began broadcasting March 23, 1947, posted the notice to its website Dec. 17.
The notice said in part, “This difficult decision comes in response to evolving listener habits and economic realities that have reshaped the media landscape.”
The station broadcasts America’s Best Music a format supplied by Westwood One that is oldies and adult standards. It also broadcasts the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers games, which it announced will now be brodcast by WOSH 93.9 FM and 1490 AM.
The notice did not say how many jobs would be impacted.
