A groundbreaking event was held for Sycamore Lodge Senior Living (assisted living) and Woodland Residences (independent living) to be built at 275 S. State St., Mishicot.

Sycamore Lodge, a development of Woodland Properties, LLC, currently has three facilities in Algoma, Luxemburg, and Kiel. Each one is family-owned and operated. The development is designed to provide a comfortable, modern, and supportive living environment, offering both assistance when needed and separate, independent living duplexes. Sycamore Lodge Senior Living facility will provide a home-like environment, accommodating 20 residents in private rooms who are of advanced age or require additional living assistance. Woodland Residences are zero-entry, single-level duplexes with open floor plans. Maintenance-free living includes landscaping, lawn maintenance and snow removal provided by Woodland Properties. Duplexes will be available to rent for seniors who are independent and do not require staff services.

Megan Shevy, president of Sycamore Lodge Senior Living and Woodland Residences, said, “We are thrilled to be celebrating the breaking of ground on a new chapter for our community. It’s been a great experience working with the village of Mishicot to develop this property into a 20-bedroom assisted living facility and independent senior living duplexes. By taking these first steps, we are planting seeds to allow our older generations to safely keep their roots in Mishicot.”

Mishicot Village President Bernie Samz said, “I am thankful to Megan and her team for their investment into the Village of Mishicot. Today, we break ground on a project that represents community.”
